Hi,
I bought an old Uno Turbo some time ago and I'm currently working on it when I've got time, simply because it's fun to have something to do every now and then.
I thought I could show you the front bumper I've made from a Nissan Micra (!)bumper and a part of the rear bumper from a Fiat Bravo...

The total cost is perhaps 10€, and if you ask me that's a reasonable price as I had no bumper at all when I started. :)

The Micra bumper fits the Uno without any operations at all!

And as you can see, this is being done just for fun! It's really not perfect! :p

Hi,
yep, it's from a Mk1 Micra. You know, the really small ugly ones!

I'm glad you like it, Maybe I'll post some more pictures of the "project" later.

The fitting to the body is quite difficult to explain, but basically two bolts in the front and two small screws in the sides. You'll just have to use your imagination and be creative. (y)

Nice job Bryne!
And if that's you in the first photo, you look to be enjoying yourself ;)

That bumper grille actually looks 'standard', being the right width and everything... do you have to make cutouts for the oil cooler and intercooler (maybe some black mesh along the bottom?)

The mirrors look kinda funky - what are they off? Again, a clever solution!

Hi,
The smiling dude in the photo is my cousin. We bought the car together, and we're laughing most of the time.

We will have to do something to get the air to the oil cooler and IC, but I don't think we will have to make cutouts. I'm sure we will figure something out.

The mirrors are stock, I think? We have not done anything to them, maybe the dude we bought it from has done something. I don't know.

Anyway, if they look "funky" it's a good thing! :D

the reason why a Mk 1 micra bumper fits one really easy is because i think the Mk 1 micra is deigned from the firest design ideas for the Fiat Uno, effectively an Mk 0 Uno, most companies come up with a first design and then refine this in different areas. But to make money they sell these first ideas off to companies selling cheaper cars.

No hard feelings, but I really doubt this theory. Sure the design is similar, but I think this was just a lucky strike. What I mean is that the bumper did not fit just like that, but the size of it was quite OK.

do some digging round the net, the mk1 micra was going to be the uno, then fiat realised it looked like crap, it just so happened datsun/nissan wanted into the small car market with a hatch, so took the design, both uno and micra were born from the megagamma concept cars, and share a lot of similair ideas, put them side by side and the similairities do become more obvious

I've always had this huntch that a micra bumper and grille could fit a mark 1 uno because the micra is a sort of early uno. there are many similarities such as the indicators, shape etc.
That bumper looks nice i must say, suits the uno well. Nice work. :)
