The fuel pump on my 89 turbo is getting noisy so i'm going to replace it. I'm going to be fitting a fse valve soon and was wondering if a standard fuel pump provides a decent pressure or is it worth find a uprated pump.

i found that is was cheeper to upgrade the pump than it was to buy the fiat replacement!

Where abouts did you get it from? Any links or numbers would be good.
Cheers, tim.

when mine went noisy, loud whine, i changed both filters first, the amount of sludge and crap that fell out the primary was a real eye opener, still did the job, pump wasnt having to work as hard, and it's still in there, with the fse

Is there two filters in a Mk 1??

I've got a big cylindrical one mounted in the engine bay, but where's the other?? I probably should replace it/them.

just ahead of the fuel pump, is the primary filer, this then feeds the line up under the car to the secondary, which is the big silver one you mentioned, as i remember it's straightforawrd enough to change, just very very messy, there is a tonne of crap stuck up under the car, then the contents of the filter itself
