Re: rev counter

well basically this is how it is done. First find a rev-counter..hehehe...then find the where on the dashboard you want to mount it. I fitted mine between the dash (where there are all the clocks) and the door. Now I typical rev-counter willl come with 5 wires. 1 should be connected to the coil, the other two are to power the rev counter so they are a + and - and the other two are to power the lights which are a + and -. The latter should be connected to the lights of the car so it only lights when the lights of the car are on. I connected mine to the parking lights. One other thing you have to see is that it is set on 4 cylinders since many rev-counters cater for a different number of cylinder engines. Well its easier said than done, but could be fitted in a day given all the right tools. I did mine in a day without the right tools. For this job scothlocks come in quite handy!!

I fitted my tachometer to the coils green wire on both the MK1 999, and MK2 999 IE. On my MK2, the coil has 2 green wires – I used the one furthest right as you look under the bonnet.

Re: rev counter

It may be easier and cheaper if you can get hold of SX dials TBH.

I didn’t shop around, but one place wanted about £85 for a rev counter. I paid £20 for the SX pod (Thanks ChrisUnoMan), which only needs 1 extra wire.

The Turbo pod will fit too, but you will have loads of redundant gauges to look at.

Re: rev counter

questions:
1 - where the coil at?
2 - how do i tap it a power supply? (not thru the HU)
3 - how do i get it tapped into the lightsd?

I don’t know if there is astandard for tachometers tbh.

Have you looked for the manufacturer’s web pages?
