Fire 45 cylinder head gasket?

Hi, can you guys help me with this problem on my 1992 Uno?

Traveling on motorway up an incline about 70 mph and pulling relatively hard, (only uphill!)the uno will start to loose power in pulses, causing the car to surge. Finally it will cause a cut out altogether. The car runs fine must of the time, can be a little rough in the morning, not starting as good as it used to. Temperature running at 2 ticks above normal, fan runs fine. Loosing a bit of fluid in the radiator (down to min)

I have replaced the thermostat, fuel pump, fuel filter, fitted a replacement ECU, distributor and coil!, new HT leads, cleaned the plugs etc... Luckily most of this is from the scrapyard but my patience is wearing thin!!! All ideas appreciated.

My last option is the cylinder head gasket or a replacement carbie?

Cheers, Dave

Hei.

If it's from 92 you'll propably have a single (mono) point injection module. Remove the airfilter box. The whole thing. You could disconnect the whole injection module and clean it if it's dirty. Mine was full of dust and oil deposits, and made the engine drag. Underneath it was white and pure. Take the oil breather - the thick rubber tube from the engine top, going into the air filter box. There is a filter in there - a flame stopper I think, made of brass. It might be clogged. Remove and clean and replace everything.

If it doesn't work, at least you have cleaned parts of your engine...
