Ok guys i'm busy at the moment sorting out my front end on my uno turbo, was gona do a mark 1 front end first cos i have a mark1 hormann kit but decided to keep the mark 2 face instead. Got a new bonnet (sorry bout the poor quality pic) but now i cant decide whether i should colour code it red, spray it matt black or make it look like its a carbon fibre bonnet. What do you guys think???
Making a few other changes to the car as well but keeping a tight lid on those for now as i dont want nobody to know until after weston wheels :D

i'd prefure red, i only say that cos the chavs in my area have sprayed there bonnets matt black with a £1 can of spray paint from pound shop to look like a carbon fibre bonnet.

ps. i have got to say i do prefure that pic with it black to red tho, its very hard desision, if its done properly, not with can of spray paint it should look good, but good quality pics would also help.

the black looks good from that angle. but still gna say red (even though i just sprayed my new grille matt black)

its all a personal choice frosty......what do you think dude?

Red, with mk2 indicators :p

Yeh thats the next thing to do, real pain in the ass i have to remove the kit off the mark 1 wings and rebond it onto mark 2 wings then change the indicators too. Its being done as i type this lolz will post up pics when done fully, my next question is about my number plate, should i get a square one and put it to the side or get a smaller one and mount it where the original one is? Hmmmmm decisions decisions...

Ok so i've decided that i'm gona paint the bonnet after all now, just thought i'd post a few pics to show you guys how i'm getting on. So far i've flushed out the rear tessterossa style vent on the horman kit rear arches cos i think it made the car look dated and blended the side skirts into the rear quarter panel. Mark 1 front wings removed and thrown in the bin lol hormann kit removed off the wings ready to be reapplied onto my mark 2 wings then colour coded. Check out the pics :D ps i still need to put spacers on the back wheels as they sit in too much and i want them to stick out some more :D

More pics for y'alllllll, mark 2 wings are now on with kit fitted and primered ready for spraying. Got a problem with the bumper now, seems to be a bit too big. Didnt realise but mark 1s wings seem to be slightly wider hence the bumper is not fitting properly at the moment, gona have to be cut and trimmed down a bit. Now that i think about it, it would've been so much easier and quicker to do a mark 1 front end lol. All i would've had to do were change the headlights, grille and bonnet. Oh well...

Paint it red Fro$ty!

Matt black will make it look like it is a replacement panel still in factory primer. A real carbon fibre bonnet is ok if you like that kind of thing, though personally I don't like the look of carbon fibre! A real one would be hellishly expensive too.

Fake carbon fibre? Please don't go there... Chav territory!

Good luck with the refurb, looks like it's coming on well. Are you going to have it ready for the next ACE Cafe Italian car meet?

Dont worry Chas i have totally gone off the idea of having a black bonnet, it looks good head on but makes the car look strange from other angles. So its gona be RED after all. :D
Wings are painted now, all thats left to do is to paint the bonnet and modify the bumper slightly to get it to fit and a few little chips to be touched up etc. The red paint on the front wings in these pics is sssso fresh that it looks brigther than the rest of the car but it fades to normal after two days. I was so shocked at first and thought the car looked messed up and that it would have to be resprayed completely but after 2 days the paint slightly ages and looks fine.
And yes the car will be at the next ace cafe meet if i am free :)
