Evening all (y) Noob here! Noob to Uno's and the Forum.

LHD 1.ie 1993. Portuguese tax man tried stealing my Landy so that's gone into hiding and I am the proud owner of the above.

Starts fine, once up to temperature it becomes intermittently juddery in all gears under load and just coasting along.

The spring-switch on the throttle assy sits in the depressed position when idling. The throttle assy can be seen moving by itself when idling (have had the car blessed so it's not a poltergeist), raising and lowering the revs between idle-speed and about 1600rpm, guestimate.

Sometimes it cuts out when stationery and a few times whilst driving along under load/coasting.

New HT leads, dizzy cap, plugs & rotor arm. No change :(
Fuel additive for injectors, no change.

Feels like fuel starvation but it's not because it revs itself up all by itself when idling.

Any help very appreciated,

Regards,
Sef

I'm sorry, that was kind of a limited reaction. Here's the full one. You could consider changing the O2 sensor, since this little sensor is one of the main inputs for the injection computer (or, actually, just an electronic table). If this is giving false or no indication, the computer runs in a rescue modus or a modus that gives a very rich or poor mixture. This explains the stalling and autonomous raise in revs while idling. There's an easy way to test my theory. Find the connector of the sensor, disconnect it and see if anything changes. If the idling goes back to a normal level, the sensor is broken.
You'll find a working sensor at scrapyards (since i guess this is dailydriver on a low budget?), a new one will cost you big time.
Don't forget to reset the computer after you replaced the sensor, or all is useless. Disconnect the two battery leads, hold them together (with ignition on). Switch ignition off, reconnect to battery, problem solved. Good luck!

Hi

I would *guess* the electronic module attached to the distributor could be the culprit. Though starting to rev up to 1600 sounds odd. Can you by any change try a different one?

Also, there's a good Portuguese enthusiastics site: http://www.fiatistas.com/. Maybe you can obtain local help :).
