Just to confuse matters even more, I checked the turbo tailgate I have, which is almost the same colour as my Uno with paint code 854/F.

The tailgate colour is different! The sticker says - Rosso Racing Red 112/F.

Looks like Fiat used rather a large number of reds for their cars. The Italians do like red as it's their racing colour!

Can you not find the sticker on the tailgate which states the paint code Bushboy?

Louie, your Uno is looking very shiny and smart! Have you got bigger biceps now after all the polishing you did?!!!!!

Cheers Chas and Yes I have thanks :)

I've just got the lower quarter (below black bump strips) to do in time for Stanford Hall. - I don't think I will have a new sill in time for Sunday, but sure she will be fine ;).

Regards All,

For what it's worth, I've been caught up in the Uno 'red' issue before :)

854/F is described as 'Rosso' on the car, 'Rosso Chiera' in the paint code books.
140 is 'Rosso Corsa'.
That other code (113) I think is a Mk2 colour, I haven't seen it on a Mk1. So, if you have a Mk2, I reckon go for the 113 colour first?

854/F looks slightly lighter and 'glowing' compared with 140, hence its 'cherry red' name. Louie's Uno looks much more 'lipstick red' (darker) than either 140 or 854/F, though it could just be a trick of the light?

Whatever you do Bushboy, don't try to match the faded, oxidised colour - always polish up the red first! Because all three 'reds' end up the same after a year in the weather - a nasty brown-orange matt colour.

Speaking of polishing, that's a great job Louie! (y)

Rosso Shiraz Met. 128 is the colour of a Tipo I have at the moment, ironically enough.

Cheers,
-Alex

Hey Alex! Nice to see you back. You've been very quiet the past few days/ weeks!

Yes, I'm begining to think Fiat used a zillion different types of red. Turboned and myself tore apart a 1988 Uno SX today, and I swear the paint code on the tailgate sticker was different again. The colour itself looked very similar to mine, maybe a little deeper. It definitely wasn't 854, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't 112 either.

Just how many reds did Fiat make available for the Uno???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is 854, and it's a kind of orangey red. More so where it's oxidised....

Time to get the polishing stuff out again I think.
