Please help!
I wanna repair my rusty Uno 1,0 '90, 3 doors. But lower part of the doors is so rusty, that is much cheaper replace them with the other ones. So, I was found perfect doors with same color, but from Uno Mk1. Can I install the windows and their mechanism from my car (Mk2) on the doors from Uno Mk1?

Welcome to the forum :)

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the glass and its regulator will fit easily. Perhaps measure up the glass fittings behind the door cards first.

The layout is different so get as much as the doors as you can. It might well be the same fitting inside for the glass, and winder.

The handle (arm rest) might not fit. You might get away with cutting down the door release bar, and keeping the Opener. If you do it this way you would need MK1 door cards too.

You might be able to make these components fit the MK1 door in MK2 position with a bit of cutting and drilling.

The MK 1 link is a 5 door, the MK2 a 3 door. Looking in Haynes, the MK1 - 3 door layout is the same as MK1 5 door.

Good Luck, and please let us know how you get on.

Kind Regards,

The windows are exactly the same. But make sure you don't get a 3-door window to fit a 5-door. Obvious, but mistakes like this is OFTEN made buy the guy behind the counter (if you buy a new one).

The rest of the door "gadgets" are mainly the same. When we bought our Uno, the rear passenger door were from a MkI. The rest of the Uno is a 1993 MkII. The door rusted to pieces due to lack of galvanization, and I got a new (used) one.

As far as I'm aware, the mk1 and mk2 Uno doors are one and the same physically. The trim is different though! Nice and easy to change too, just four bolts to remove and the door comes off.

And I think the mk2 window and winder mechanism will swap into the mk1, and vice versa.

Anyone know where I can get a good drivers door for a 3 door Uno from?

Hi! Thanks very much for help. After more than a month agony, I was found perfect used doors from Uno Mk2, 50 EUR each. Unfortenatelly, I was missed oportunity in Italy 5 months ago to buy also perfect doors for only 10 EUR in Trieste... So reparation of my Uno is olmost done, it only had to be sprayed :)
Thanks again

I will be getting rid of a load of Uno 5-door doors soon, some good condition others in a 'used' condition. Anyone wanting them PM me and they can take them away.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum, Uno Belgrade!

I know that you have your doors problem sorted out now, but if anyone else is curious, I've been doing a little research on this lately ;)

I want to fit Mk2 trim into my Mk1 (5-dr) doors. As you probably know, the door opening-handle and the window winder are in different positions on the Mk2. So, it would be necessary to use these components from the Mk2. The good news is that on my Mk1 doors, there are two sets of holes - for the Mk1 positions or for the Mk2 positions.

The bad news (which doesn't affect me) is that I checked the doors of another 5-dr Uno in a scrapyard. It was an early '84 model, with hardly any rust, and pleasant grey trim... and no extra holes for the Mk2 positions. So, it looks like only Mk1 models near the 1989 changeover (to Mk2) had the extra sets of holes.

Thanks,
-Alex
