Hey Chas,
The Mark 1s look more aggressive and retro than mark 2s. Marks 2s are more girly in my personal opinion. I agree about the grille as well, it should be left how it is. I may just spray the fiat logo black to keep things a bit more subtle but other than that i think it will have to be a standard mark 1 grille like that yellow one now

Hey Fro$ty,
Glad to hear that the mk1 look has its fans! I've always liked the look of the mk1 front, then again I'm biased as that's what both my Uno's were. It does look a bit more beefy and chunky than the mk2, and more distinct as the mk2 front looks much more like modern cars and tends not to stand out like a mk1 does.
Regarding the yellow car pictured, the grill looks nice all in black. I would almost accept the bad boy bonnet as it is more subtle than some available, though my preference is for the standard bonnet.
Weren't you going to fit a mk1 turbo tailgate? If you did (along with the mk1 rear lights), and also go for a mk1 front you'll end up with a mk2 Uno with mk1 styling!!! That's still cool in my book, and along with your body kit your Uno will have a much more aggressive stance.
I have to decide whether to use the spotlight grill in my Uno or not. Cleaned it today to get all the dirt off, will trial fit it sometime next week to see how it looks. Also, I got a bonnet grill scoop included in the same auction. I don't think I've ever seen one before - it fits over the grill at the back (windscreen end) of the bonnet. Anyone ever seen one of these before?
Not 100% sure that I will use the scoop as it might be a bit too boy racerish, but then again it is rather discreet. I'll try it and see, it might look quite nice.
Both the grill and the scoop say 'Made In Italy', and the glass on the spotlights say 'FIAT', so I suspect they were original options available from Fiat. I'm not sure though.
If I do use them, then the grill will be sprayed satin black with the Fiat logo kept in chrome, and the scoop will be body coloured to match the bonnet.
I've attached pictures of both so everyone can see what they look like.
Oh, and just to make everyone jealous I picked them up for £1 off Ebay! Postage took the total up to £10, but I think I got a bargain. I reckon I got them so cheap (no one else bidded) because the listing was named 'Fiat Uno Parts', so I suspect most people didn't bother to look.
Lucky me!
Chas
