I had a clonk, maybe that is not how to describe it, as you turned the steering wheel. It turned out to be the flat 1 mm thick bearing plate that was completely dry and full of dirt.

Easy fix, I already had a spare suspension unit.
Just thought I would post it up for others.

And, I a sure I read somewhere on here that turbo spring were a different thickness and were colour coded blue or green and standard springs were coded white and yellow. Can anyone confirm this, I can not find the relevant thread. I was sold what were supposed to be turbo springs and front shocks but I can not see much difference if any at all. The springs certainly seem to be the same diameter.

Yes I read that thread, thanks, full of thoughts, but the little snippet I was looking for about the colour coding wasn't there, or maybe I just didn't see it.

I have the shocks/springs in now, it appears to make a difference, a bit "tighter" but I still chasing a rattle on a bumpy road. Comes from the front somewhere. Sounds like in the suspension but I can't find it.

Yes I read that last night, green and yellow codes. I wasn't sure if that was the right info I wanted as I am a little confused now.

The springs I took out are coded yellow/white, the ones I put in supposedly from a turbo were coded blue.

Thanks again:
I wonder if my blue was green! I checked the coils and it looked like the ones I put in had slightly less coils. I read in those specs that the turbo ones were 4 coils whereas the other ones were 4.25 coils. That makes sense to me, and fits with what I was looking at.

I had a simular little rattle on bumpy roads last time my 45 was on the road, for the life of me i could not find it,it almost sounded like something was loose.
Then one day i though i would try and see if i could hear it by bouncing the car up and down,i really gave it some by holding the slam panel and heaving it up and down violently,i could not hear it, but then if like by magic the rattle had disapeared when i next took it out lol

Maybe worth a try?lol
