hey!
this car was meant as a cheapo stop gap whilst i fixed my classic mini... but like most of you, i cant not mess about with the things i own...
this is where im starting... bought off of my friend for the pricely sum of £50! with tax and MOT...
before i bought it he put new discs and pads in... and whacked 4 new winter tyres on... the only thing ive had to do was replace a sticking caliper in order to get it driving again...
now for £50 its obviously not going to be a minter
but i cant help but love the brown corduroy intertior!!!
one of the first mods i did was pull out the prehistoric grundig stereo and i wired in an ISO adapter from a polo... then stuck my fancy navsure unit in... although im having problems with the tilting of the screen cause of the countersunk position of the DIN apeture...
just today i was messing with the speaker system...
the origonal 100mm cardboard units had rotten and barely produced and noise... if it did it was crackly... so i whacked in 4 kenwood 100mm units i had in the mini and also threw in my reisen 6x9's into the parcel shelf too...
thats all for now... got a new wheel bearing to go in tomorow morning and will do the cv boots whilst its in peices... then need to sorce some new doors as these ones are absolutly shagged...
also need to find the cause of the 20mpg im getting out of it:S its only a 1372! im thinking its the engine temp sender as the car is slower when its hot... so i recon its staying on choke... if not that its a knackered lambda...
thanks for looking...
Chris
