My partner has a 1994 1.0ie Start, only got 38000 genuine miles on the clock however the main hose from filler cap to the tank has a leak. I think the plastic securing clip has broken and the hose has been rubbing against the rear suspension resulting in expensive fuel running onto the ground when putting fuel in.

As long as i can get another hose how does it come off at the filler cap end? The tank end is a jubilee clip and pull off however the cap end looks complicated.

I would say replace....

however..

repairing it with a section of similar pipe and lots of araldite/ expoy resin is how I fixed mine - I got a hole where the turbo alloys had rubbed when cornering. :(

You´ll have to clean the inside of the inner ring (with the hose) first.
That´s very important !
The outer ring has notches which hold it in the inner ring.
And there´s another lose ring too. You´ll see ;)
From the inside you´ll have to press the notches of the outer ring.
They hold the outer ring. If you press you can push the outer ring off.
The inner ring has notches which hold it in the side-wall.
They can be pressed from the outside.
It´s very important to clean the whole cap , if you don´t you can´t press
the notches or something will break.
Good luck ! :)
