Petrol tank straps....

..gents

As you know, there's a couple of 'straps' that wrap around the petrol tank and then are bolted in to the chassis....

...both these are broken on my Uno FIRE 999cc, but what I figure is that the bolts which hold the edge of the plastic tank in place should be enough to stop the tank falling out and incinerating me ....

..agreed ?

I had the same problem mate with my old uno Mk1 i left it like this for 2 years and nothing hapened. but to be honest with you its not the safest thing to do.

id get it sorted to be on the safe side, tht way u can use your uno for what it was invented for..... having FUN!!!

...hmmm

it got through the MOT despite the broken straps....honest.....no brown envelopes.!

...bit of a pain to try and get hold of new straps though....its a mornings ride out to the M25 and back to the wreckers.....

....I'll give it another good long look....I reckon they're there to tick a box on some European safety standard rather than actually have a function....
