I have just brought a 91 Uno 60 Chic....( for the wife)

The car is just a short term run around whilst her other car is having a head gasket done.

But the car is in very condition only done 16k from new !

I will be looking to sell in a few months if any members are interested in a low mileage car..

For the time being , I have few questions that could help me...

Can anyone confirm if the centre vents should blow out hot air is it just the footwell vents on this model ?

Also there is a plate at the top of the sunroof handle that has broken , it looks like it prevents the mechanism inside from pushing out , any ideas on a fix for this ?? - As we cant get the sunroof fully closed without it !

The windscreen demist and the footwells are the only place that hot air comes out - you get used to it though, I prefer having warm feet than getting blasted in the face with hot air.

Not sure about the sunroof as mine doesn't have one.

Thanks thats the heater sorted , I did wonder lol ...

I think I just need to buy a new plate and what looks to be a spring washer to hold the mechanism in place...

The centre vents are 'fresh air vents'. Heated air can be directed at the screen and/ or the footwells. When the screen is selected heated air is also blown from the small vents at the sides of the dashboard (for demisting the door windows). The bigger vents at the side of the dashboard only work as fresh air vents and only blow when the car is in motion. It all sounds a bit archaic but it actually works very well, especially as you can keep your feet warm but still have some cold air to the face to reduce the risk of the cabin becoming 'muggy' and of the driver falling asleep.

I can't help you with the sunroof dilema as I've no experience with mk2 style sunroofs. If you could take some pictures and post them up this may well help us to offer suggestions as to how to solve the problem. I do know that the standard factory fit mk2 tilt and slide roof had some known issues with the catch so maybe some other members might be able to offer you suggestions.
