So finally got the turbo back in my MK1 and now it wont start. Has spark and fuel pressure at the fuel rail but the plugs are dry so dont think the injectors are working. I had also had the dash out and battery off but now its all back together it just wont stat. Have checked everything i can think of. Thought it could have something to do with an imobliser on the alarm but couldnt think where you could put a relay to do that. Any ideas would be well recieved as i dont have that much experience with injected cars. Thanks Bjorn

Give the injectors a clean and a soak in injector cleaner and see if that helps at all.

When you say that the engine will not start, what do you mean? Is it dead, or will it just not turn over?

Yea might give that a go but i thought since all spark plugs were dry (meaning all injectors arent giving fuel through) that its something electrical. It turns over fine and has a good spark but just wont ignite and im putting that down to no fuel getting through. Does any one know how you can test the wires that go to the injectors to see if they are getting the siginal.

Remove the wiring plugs from the injectors and connect a NOID light to them (one at a time unless you've got 4 NOID lights). Turn the engine over and the NOID light should flash if they're getting pulses from the ECU.

Dave.

Well now i have checked the siginal going to the injectors and there is no siginal. The fuel pump must be working because there is pressure at the fuel rail. Does the pulse (siginal) for the injectors come straight from the ecu? im running out of ideas:mad:

FIXED !!!!!

Searched back on earlier posts about the injection system and saw it uses the coil so looked all around it and found a very inconspicous wire that had come off .

Cheers for the help guys

Havent had my baby on the road for over 6weeks so looking forward to a blat 2morrow.(y)

hi , does anyone know if this would apply on a 200 punto hgt as i have EXACTLY the same problem! have alos tested with noid lights and have no output, however i do have 12v at the injectors with ignition on, any help greatly appreciated!

Totally different engine management system (and different engine!) in a Punto HGT - best you post in the Punto forum (y) There won't be an ignition coil connection (each plug has its own coil) but I think the injectors will have a 12v supply that you found. On the Uno, the injectors are all switched together, so one fault stops all four. On the Punto HGT, each injector is switched separately (sequential injection) so there are other possible faults - cam angle sensor (though I think it reverts to non-sequential if faulty).

I think the best place to start is to check all system fuses, then check if you have sparks at the spark plugs (the crankshaft sensor is shared between ignition and fuel injection on the Punto). Pop over to the Punto forum and see what they suggest?

hi there, thanks for reply! have been in the punto bit but not havin too much luck in solving my problem, ive got a good spark and all the fuses seem to be ok,could i have a prob with the fuel relay?even though ive got fuel up to the rail, sorry about all the q's but u seem to know what your on about :)

That's not common. The ecu is not switching the injectors for some reason. I always double check my tests when I find this because its very rare. A scope is better than a noid light if you have one.

Its so rare I would think you have a fuel pressure problem rather than an injector firing issue. Have you tested fuel pressure? pump and relay etc

Check all the angle sensors and good power and earth at the ecu. Also check injection pulses at the ecu, start there

I am continually amazed at the information that is able to be found on here, and the very helpful and knowledgeable people who give out that information in a constructive way.

Thanks to all contributors, I enjoyed reading this thread even though as yet all my Unos are old carb models.

Although I did wonder what it would be like to put a 1990 1500 injected Mitsi motor in one. Why, because I have a repossesed 1500 Mitsi motor here in a car that will not go back on the road.

Rawill, your going to have to get a project thread up now :p you deffo gotta do it haha, sorry to go off topic :D

LOL-:) Maybe but only when I decide which car I will put my Tipo 1600 engine in! Got to get rid of my rattles and get the engine-transmission-road noise down. Then I will decide what to do.

Anyway, it is a cheapskate kit I put on the car, cost me $100.00 but way off topic. Mods can move these posts if they like. I guess this should be under my "Bodykit question thread"

Now back to fuel injectors on the Punto. I can't help there.

Hi guys, have same problem, after complete rebuild GT wont start, fuel pump is working, fuel goes into rail but not from injectors, on one pin there is 12v.
Any ideas ? Crank sensor is new, Don’t know where is problem ?
