Dear Sargent Bash

I stay a little further up from you in Durban. Many moons ago a friend of mine also enquired for "branches'' on his FIRE.... As far as I can recall - Steve's Auto Clinic might assist you on that one, and oh - the "abarth club - South Africa" on the Web... (But then , you have to be a Turbo owner - me don't qualify)

Good luck

hi thanks for the reply , but i think u miss understood wat im looking for , currently i have a free flow , banana branches and a cone filter installed on my car , what im looking for is the intake manifold for my carb , to install side drafts , u need another manifold for it to b able to fit onto the engine , aparently you do get them for my car but they are very hard to find , has to b imported :bang:

This has been discussed many times & as yet, no ones come up with an off the shelf option, you can only get the standard 32TLF or SPI manifold for the FIRE, or the plastic MPI ones from the `current` FIRE engines.

The only solution is modifying one yourself.

o oops sory . thanks , any idea on any specs to make my own??? , the difrent ones u mention can u fit any side drafts on them????

Unfortunately not. The main issue is the fact they come out of the back of the engine & space is limited.

Personally I think the best option would be to get a standard manifold, chop the branches where they start to angle upwards & fit big bike carbs on each one (some fit on rubber pipes with jubilee clips & they usually fit at an angle).

You`d then have to deal with connecting them up & fabricating an air box.

Another alternative would be to take the top part of a slightly bigger cars inlet manifold & join it to the head flange of a gasflowed FIRE manifold (preferably with a matching ported head). A twin choke 1.3-1.6 carb should see at least a 10-15bhp increase if the head & exhaust manifold is matched.

All this is theory though, I dont know of anyone actually doing anything with one.

The carb is a restriction on the FIRE lump (& occasionally problematic) , I`m suprised more people havent experimented.
