hey guys,
just tested out my car for economy!! Well all my driving is urban(city) and I get 38mpg!! Is that good?? I think I should be getting low 40's right?? I dont drive fast except once in a while

ANy views??

Yours a 1ltr 45 Fire right?

I only ever got 32mpg out of mine but it was 13 years old and only had 4 gears. Remember that if they tell you something in the brochure you don't usually get quite that much

If it's a lot of short trips and cold/warm (not hot) engine starts then 38 is probably about right. I think you'll also find that filling up before it gets to only a third full will improve your economy.

The best I've got in my Uno is 48mpg and the worst is about 38mpg. The 38 was pure town driving all short trips.

Do a run on the motorway at a fixed 60mph and see what you get - you will be impressed!

I got nearly 450 miles on a tank of fuel in my uno once. Couldnt be bothered to fill it up on the motorway so cruised along with lorries at 60. Gets amazing economy if you do that

It was a 45 Fire, 14 years old with 120K on the clock too

450miles from 30 litres of fuel? WOW!!

Gotta try that this weekend.

Yep yep, average of about 60mpg (you could squeeze about 35 litres in mine)

Cant seem to get anywhere near as good out of the cinq though. Maybe due to 100cc more and shorter gearing.
