Hello! Does anyone knows how to check air and water temperature sensors for BOSCH Mono Jetronic fuel injection? I have an idle problem when engine starts to warming up (not when it's completely cold, and not when it' s completely hot) and I'm starting to think that it could be a temperature sensor failure. I know that sensor are the same as resistors: I checked them with an ohmmeter and they are not interrrupted, but I can't say if the resistance values are correct! Does someone know their value and their change with temperature? And what about thermostatic air valve in air filter box? It seems continuatively opened from the cold air intake!
Thanx,
Andrea.

Just let the air filter flap stay open at cold. The Bosch SPi does not have any icing problems, so cold air is generally best for performance. My thermostat physically broke, so it has been "cold" every winter. Don't worry.

The rest I have no answer to.

Morten.

Hello!!! Thanks a lot for your answer!
I opened the air box and I checked air temperature sensor: it was very dirt... also all the zone of injector is dirt and it' s covered by a thin layer of dust and grease... probably are residuals of pollution of the metropolitan air!
However I cleaned the sensor with petroline. Now idling problem seems to be less evident but still present. I went to FIAT and asked for a new sensor: they sell it with all the injector group for 630 EURO!!! They are crazy...
So I decided to completely clean my sensor and all the zone under airbox, and hope tha it' ll help the idling!!
Andrea.
