Hi!
Right in my Uno (below) i have added a fair bit of weight as i have been sponsored to do an install in it for this year. :D However with all this weight (Its already on bump stops lol) it is only safe to consider the weight which i will need to slow down.

So enlight of this i first decided to do a Punto GT brake upgrade. (Will put pics of this up tomorrow)

This as you may know is relatively straight forward however you do need to make up 6mm spacers to fit between the caliper and hub to space the calipers away as they do not fit with the Punto GT discs. (However some people have reported not needing spacers but meh)

Anyway once this was done the brakes didn't exactly feel great and had a fair bit of travel so i decided to fit a Punto GT brake master cylinder and Servo, i originally thought i would just use the standard Uno servo with the Punto GT master cylinder, however it does not fit :(

Now this is relatively simple it was just a case of removing the old master cylinder and servo and bolting the Punto GT item in place.

All i need to do is work out some way of securing the brake fluid bottle and everything should be ok.

Now this is the hard bit

Once the master servo is in place (It fits through the same place as the standard Uno one) you will see this:

Bassicly from the pedal where it connects to the servo sits to far froward and in the next week or two i am going to design a solution i will post up once it is complete.

PLEASE PLEASE bear in mind that this is not a guide merely what i have personly done and if you do follow what i have done i can not be responsible for it being safe to use...
Theroticly it is ok because you are using the Punto GT brakes with the Punto GT master cylinder and servo, which should mean it brakes much better and also brakes easier, and i have also seen people using coupe Brembos on Punto GT's so this should mean you could fir them to an Uno Turbo to.

...

To be continued.

Yes fitting a Punto (any punto) master cylinder and servo is a very simple task, and actually removes some clutter from the engine bay as the setup sticks out less.

I have fitted this to my car as the old cylinder hit my twin carb setup. I got mine from a 1996 Punto 55. I did however need to drill a hole in the brake pedal as I found it didnt line up perfectly.

I also know a guy whos done this to his UT, enabled him to simplify the brake setup since he could remove the cross linkage from under the heater.

I also noticed that the Alfa 147 has the same master cylinder and servo setup.

Good simple upgrade!

I do like the irony of putting **** brakes on a car that would sit up a punto gts/147 arse!? lol

The thing is that the Turbos cant fit a servo down the driverside of the engine, your uno a 1.1?

This is on the passengers side dude ;)
And its a 1.4

Hi dude!
Interested what you said about just needing to drill a hole?
Is the input shaft on a GT servo longer as it sticks out further than the braket meaning i will have to fabricate a new one :(

How much of a difference does it make?

The guy I know (SteveNZ knows him better than I do) has fitted the brake servo on the drivers side of an Uno Turbo mk1 (I'm sure thats what hes done). He did the job in an effort to reduce complexity in the brake system and to reduce weight.

As for drilling a hole my uno had a standard Uno 45 brake setup, I noticed that the rod extended further into the car. I drilled a hole slightly above and behind the original pin and put a bolt through.

I've almost finished my Unos upgrade so will post some pictures.

Update:

Hi again!
Right i have made a simply solution, which i will test fit on friday and report back :)

Insted of messing with the brake pedal etc i decided to space the brake servo away from the chassis so the brake pedal connection would fit.

The dimensions are:
100mm square
35mm deep

then i had to weld the corners into it so i could bolt the servo to it and the bolt the spacer to the car .

And i will do the final update on weather it works or not :)

A few pics of the Punto GT brakes on the car

Master is the same size but the booster is larger. Calipers are the same as Uno turbo. The benifet is larger rotors

Finished!

Right so far i have had the spacer made, the brakes fitted and now all is let is to fit the servo unit :)

Right a few pics of the spacer:

The measurements above fit perfectly!
Pic of servo now bolted to the car:

Pic of the servo input shaft remember how at first it was miles out....well now it slides on like a dream :D

And lastly i made up a plate to fit my sound system wiring and the brake fluid bottle to:

All thats now left is to bleed em up :D

Hello, back from the future. What spacers did you put in order to fit the discs? Also can i put the uno master cylinder on the bigger sevro? Thanks
