Hi everyone!
I have a question about the timing belt on an Uno 1100 Fire..
My cousin's alternator had to be replaced, and he did it with help from a friend, but they removed the timing belt as well, now the timing belt i assume is put back wrong and the car wont start? :bang: Can anyone please help with advice on putting the timing belt back on correctly and how to adjust the timing properly?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Marie:)

I drive a 1100 Fire myself. Firstly, if you stand in front of the engine, the timing belt lettering must read clockwise. Secondly there's a timing mark on the crankshaft pully. Pull out sparkplug no. 4, insert a screwdriver instead, turn engine clockwise until top dead centre. Fit timing belt. Car should start.

Just for future reference, there is a much easier way of finding top dead centre without having to stick anything in the cylinder. If you look on the transmission about just below the distributer, there should be a rectangular rubber bung, or a hole if not. Has a TDC marking on the gear plate in that hole. Just match the groove up with the first spike.

wooooooooooh i put the timing belt rite on and guess what? my lady STARTED. ill take a bells on that.whoop whoop. thanx guys.lol. god to know people in knowledgable places. thankzzz
