Hello, I got a 1,5 75sx Uno from '88.
THe engine sounds very nice and healthy, its got pretty much stable compression and has been serviced, running synthetic oil and stuff. Well the engine fails to deliver any power above ~2500RPM and below that its very weak, worse than the average 1000cc fire engines. And its a '88 mk1 model with power windows and a digital dash, model name 75SX, could it be that it has a catalyst fitted? IT has something quite big down there but how do I make sure if its a catalyst? Perhaps its clogged?
I think its got electric fuel pump issues. On the block, there is a place where I can fit the Lada mechanical fuel pump but it fails to run (perhaps the part that goes "in the block" differs from the later fiat pumps? . Is there some fiat fuel pump (perhaps from a ritmo 75?) that I could fit on this block? And would it be a huge effort to fit a good-ol carburettor on this engine? From a ritmo or some lada? Any electric issues that I will arise? (alternator vacuum hoses and stuff..?)
Well any advice would be welcome; SUch a lovely car but not that much of a fun to drive if acceleration from 0 to 100 takes like 22seconds...
