Hi, I have a Mk2 999cc single injector petrol Uno. Most of the time I start her up, especially if she is cold, the idle isn't at a steady RPM, it goes down to almost stalling, then back up, then down, then up, etc... Its also kicking out some pretty fuelly fumes!

I'm pretty sure the catalyitic converter is knackered, probably due to the unburnt fuel she is kicking out of the engine. But I don't want to replace the Cat until I find out why she isn't running right.

She's just had new:
-Spark Plugs
-HT Leads
-Dizzy Cap & Rotor Arm
-Air Filter
-Oil Filter (and oil of course!)
-Petrol Filter

And this still hasn't sorted the problem.

What type of engine management system is there on these (its a '93); I'm assuming as she has a Cat, and therefore a Lamda (sp?) sensor she must have some form of simple management system?

Cheers, Ed.M
