Would a front bumper from a Uno Mk2 fit on a Uno Mk1?
I was looking at my friends MK2 model and his bumper and it looks it would just fit .

But If any of you have pics or did this yourself , I would be grateful....

Thank in advance..

P.S. Sorry for my "russian" english :)

Yes. In a word.

You'll find it will stick a little further out than the MK1 bumper, and the gaps will be tighter, but it fits.

A lot of people like this mod, as it brings the Mk1 front face a little more up to date, but without getting rid of the nice square headlamps and proper fiat grill.

Incidentally, I'd recommend plenty of penetrating oil, and if you can get hold of new bumper bolts, as the old ones holding your current bumper on sure to be siezed and may snap when undoing them.

:)

I have tried the bumper mod and the uno now looks great...:slayer: (y)
Here is the pic...

Well I'm pleased that Circolo answered this one, because I didn't expect it to fit!

The Mk2 bumper is taller than the Mk1, because the headlights are above the level of the Mk1 headlights. I know that Frosty had a fight to get a Mk1 bumper onto a Mk2, so I am surprised it worked the other way around. Though, if you look closely, I think it's sitting at an angle? (where it meets the front wing).

Anyway Amigaboy, good work doing the mod and posting the picture for us! Welcome to the forum... and now, that name! I have an Amiga 1200 that I've just put back into its original desktop case (was made into a tower). I wonder if you're an Amiga 1200 user as well?

Thanks Alex.

Only know from experience.

My previous UT MK1 had the Taifun twinheadlamp conversion, which would sit proud of the Mk1 bumper, so I though the MK2 bumper would be ideal.

I remember having a simlar issue with the MK2 bumper, pushing up a little at the front. But I just modified some of the fixing lugs on the bumper, and bent a few things in orded that it fit better.

Looked . I must get a couple of pics of it up here for all too see. As some of the twin headlamp conversions were horrible for the Uno, but this one looked 100%.:)

It is a replacement part so it doesnt fit as it should fit even on a Uno Mk2...
Neibour bought a second hand ones (Original fiat) and they are a perfect match on his 3 door Uno mk1...

Now I just have to figure a way to make my 1.3D engine works as it should....

I have done this to a couple of mk1's in the past, gives a much chunkier look IMO.

Yap , you are right , it gives a more agressive look... And it look nicer...

Any hint for replacement headlights/front mask?

Can't get Amigboy's picture up for some reason. Anyone know if the Mk2 bumper has a lower "spoiler"/ Air dam effect when fitted to a Mk1. I have a Mk1 Uno race car for the Classic Sports Car Club's "Tin Tops" series and an air dam would be a useful mod.
