This is my first message on this forum - but reading through the site it looks very useful.

I have a 98 2.0EL (that I am wanting to sell - but the last time I took it out the radiator sprang a leak and I was just about to put a new one in when I remembered I have broken front ns fog light) can someoen please offer advise on the sequence to fit the new one.. Does the whole bumper need to come off? Can it be done from the engine bay or wheel arch?

All suggestions welcome.

By the way having browsed the forum all the problems I have had over the years seem to be quite common - remote central locking - a joke!, stuck rear door locks, sliding doors, clock back lights, window control back lights, wipers, clutch etc etc

Can't help on the foglight...

but....

Ours has had a few common problems....

Rear washer failing.... after it failed about three times I bought a few spares for the next failure.... It didn't fail again... well not yet anyway

Remote locking... gave up 2 years ago

Stuck sliding doors.... a winter problem is this... I can normally open them by pressing on the rear of the door where the lock is and operating the handle... but it does require a bit of pushing. Before I've had the inside panel off and all works fine when pulling the rods, so it must be related to cold weather:rolleyes: . My eldest recently discovered an easy way of doing it:cool: Open the front door and operate the internal and external handle at the same time.:slayer: Works everytime:D

The Uly may not have the greatest quality, and always stay away from the main dealer, but in six years it's only let me down one and that was self inflicted from a flat battery when I left the fridge running:rolleyes: , the most reliabale car I've owned

Doesn't seem to be a solution offered to this fog lamp problem? - I have a 1999 Ulysse with a fog lamp not working - the manuals that I have managed to download all seem to be for newer models - they recommend to check the fuses before replacing bulb - but since it's only one that is not working I am assuming that the fuse is OK? Unless in older models they have a fuse for each fog lamp? The pictures supplied of the lamp cluster do not seem to correspond with the clusters that I have - does look to me like bumper removal or access through the wheel arch after removing covers under wheel arch?

Can anyone offer advice or does anyone have a 1999 Manual to upload?

Many thanks in advance

to change the front fog light bulbs you need to twist off the grey cap on the rear, a bit tricky to access, you will probably have to remove the plastic blanking panel which attaches to the wheel arch liner. Twisting the cover off does need force. Not a great design feature!
