I have recently purchased a 53 Fiat Ulysse 2.0 jtd Elaganza
of which the monochrome display doesnt lightup with the sidelights, hence you can't see anything on the display during the evening.

1) does anyone know where i coukld source one from other than a dealer.
2) Is it possible to change the monochrome display for the colour screen ?
3) How much a satnav cd will cost for the rt3 unit updated to V5.5 software

Does the display light up at all when you switch it on, I think it should actually dim the display backlight when you turn on the sidelights for night driving.

Unfortunately you can't swap to a colour display unless you change the main unit as well as the screen. The colour screen has a different connection to the RT3 unit.

The new maps are available on E-Bay, but I don't think they are available from dealers yet.

I have just updated my RT3 to 5.5 and it works fine with the 2005 Navteq cd I just got on ebay.
Drop me a pm and I'm sure I coud sort something out for you on the CD front.

I will have a look at my display tonight, I just went out in the car and it was difficult to see if the backlights are on during the day.

The display doesn't lightup at all, I was wondering if it could be the sensor to the right of the display to detect if it's dark or not.

I think that sensor is the infra red sensor for transferring data. Sounds like the screen may be faulty.

Pretty sure it has the traffic service. I only put it in on Thursday so not had much of a chance to play with it.

I too have just bought a 53 Ulysse Eleganza 2.0 JTD. Am also happy with it although there are a few things i need to sort out with regard to the monochrome connect sat nav / gsm phone

1. It came without a disc for the sat nav - what do i need and where can i get one.

2. I cant get the sim card holder out of the front of the system. it looks like the last user either jAMMED it or put in a blanking plate of some sort. The manual suggests i should just need to push it in to get the sim card holder out. This doesn't happen with mine. Any one any ideas?

The Sat Nav CDs shouldn't be a problem - drop me a PM.

As for the SIM card - have you tried pushing in the little button to the side of the holder? You need to use a pen or something.

Sorry to hijack this thread,but,I also have a monochrome satnav,which has been programmed by the previous user.I'm unable to delete any of this stuff and the manual tells me I need a set up disc to change some of the settings.
The only disc I got with the vehicle was an obvious copy of the original 2002 maps,can anyone help?

Ok, I now have the uploaded maps - and transferred to a CD-R - all is well, and it is being read fine by the unit!

BUT what version map is it? 2005? Isn't that the same as we had before :chin: I note there are 2006/7 RT3 Maps on eBay.

I also selected Classic FM, so had TMC showing [it was the only TMC station in my area] - then selected a destination, etc - BUT no traffic information at all. It was blanked out on the options.

Do we need the latest maps?

The traffic service is on the Trafficmaster network, so the radio stations are the local one's from the Chrysalis group or GCapnMedia Plc.

It must be the latest CD with the Trafficmaster logo on the cover of the CD.

I had a look on the Navteq site, though, and can't see this 2006/7 CD - had a look under Peugeot and Citroen and nothing
