Hi,

I have been waiting for about 8 weeks for the garage to fix my heated seat. They said it was the switch, but didn't want to swap it until they had a new bit of trim in case it broke when they took the switch out. Anyway I got fed up of waiting and decided to take the switch out myself, it only took 60 seconds and did no damage to the trim. I know a fair bit about electronics so I tested the switch and all three settings work fine on a meter. I checked to see if there was power to the switch from the loom and there is nothing and not even the earth is present. This means the loom doesn't actually seem to be connected to anything. The car is only 10 weeks old, but after a previous experience with a dealer trying to fix the electrics on our new Punto (we ended up getting a brand new replacement car) I am reluctant to let them play with it unless it is a simple plug in replacement of something.

Are there any Fiat experts (or Fiat Expert himself)who know where the loom goes to from the seat switch and are there any connections along the way which can be checked. As both the 12V feed and the earth are missing, it looks like a simple case of a connector not being pushed in properly somewhere.

Thanks

Sorry Poggy dont no, but no have under sill trims and see if you can find it. p.s does it have electric seats, if so may have a different system onboard. E.g van system for drivers seat. Digital signals

Oh no, it seems the heated seats go through the body computer so they will have to investigate.

Hopefully it won't create more problems.

Hi,

It's a miracle, I fixed the heated seat. At the back of the seat is a conduit with all the cables in. I managed to open the lid to it and found two connectors which were not connected to each other. As they were male and female it was odds on that they were meant to be connected. I pushed them together and it worked straight away.

Now I have a nice warm seat for when I go to Denmark.

Poggy.

Hi,

I certainly won't be able to buy a drink there, it costs a fortune.

Probably go by plane now though.
