Hi,

I sent my owner (warranty) registration card off to Fiat when I got the car, but being naive I copied the registration number from the service book which the dealer gave me. Anyway the dealer had put the wrong registration number in the service book so the VIN number didn't match up with Fiat's. They sent the form back and asked me to correct it, which I did (I have now memorised the registration number. I haven't had anything back and it's been a few weeks, should I expect anything from Fiat to confirm the warranty is active.

Hi

If I recall, my wife received a letter from Fiat with one of those Pop-out cards in the top, to keep in the car or wallet or something. It has some car details and warranty info on. I presume this was sanctioned once I sent the form in - I will check at home tonight and see what it says!

This is supposed to be done by the dealer.

I had a problem when I tried to take my car to another dealer for warranty work and they told me the car did not exist. A call to Fiat UK resolved it, they called the selling dealer and told them to sort it out asap, it was done the next day.

A similar one to watch out for is the roadside assistance, before going on holiday this year I phoned the roadside assistance number to ensure I was covered and again it hadn't been registered. I had to call in with the dealer on the way to the ferry! Apparently the dealer must register your vehicle seperately for warranty and roadside assistance.

I am so glad mine is a company car - all of these issues are for the lease company to worry about :D
