Hi,

Does anybody have a tow bar fitted to a new Ulysse. I am thinking of having one fitted, but the towbar fitter says you need to cut the bumper.

Poggy

Because of the problems with ordering my car, my dealer had a tow bar fitted as an offer of compensation - the bumper was not cut. It'll probably cost a bit more to have it done 'properly', but in my case that was the dealer's problem !:D

Hi,

That sounds good, is it one of the removable versions or fixed and do you have any idea of costs. I asked a local fitter and they wanted to cut the bumper which I am not keen on at all.

Hopefully the electrics jsut plug in somewhere.

Thanks

Poggy

If its a genuine tow bar the bumper is cut slightly. It is a removable ball type though with a lockable key. Makes it look a lot better off, when not in use.

Hi,

Are the tow bars the same on the C8 & 807 as some companies don't list the Fiat but do list the Citroen etc.

Is there a plug somewhere under the car for the towbar electrics.

Poggy

Just had a look at mine - it's a Witter one with dual electrics. There is a cut out of the underside of the bumper (now I've had a look around underneath, I can't see how they'd fit one without it, as the spare wheel gets in the way otherwise). The electrics go up through a small hole into the body of the car behind the rear left hand wheel (I've not poked around inside to see how they connect in yet).

Hi,

Can't help on electrics, but where did you get the tow bar and was it expensive. Was it easy to fit yourself and did it involve cutting the bumper.

Thanks

Poggy

Hi Poggy

The towbar was purchased from Trident Trailers for £180.00 inc and providing you have access to a lift its a doddle. You have to remove the spare wheel and the heat shield from the exhaust and then fit the bar to existing mounting holes in the chassis and no I didn't have to cut the bumper! The spare wheel is then re-secured but you have to adapt the heat shield before you can refit it.

Regards

Ron.

Ron,

Had a look around inside, and unless I start removing trim panels (don't really want to do that), I can't see where the wires go. Sorry!

So got you tow bar fitted then how about this boat on ebay to pull behind you lol.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2454839870

Bloody hell! I have seen some mad things selling on ebay but that takes the biscuit! I was going to ask what "shipping" would be on this item but thought the seller might be slightly miffed!

If only I had a spare 7million dollers and a bigger pond I could launch a full out offensive on any small country!

Hi Alex

Yep, electrics all connected and working OK. You can purchase a tow bar wiring loom from your dealer that connects straight into the main wiring loom, very neet and tidy and none of those dodgy conecting blocks! Comes with a 13 pin Euro socket so you may want to purchase a 7 pin socket or an adapter. Since fitting mine I have found that Tow Sure can supply a bar for £90.50 which is quite a bit cheaper. If you need a wiring diagram let me know and Ill email one over to you.

Regards,

Ron

Hi folks. Does anyone know where to find a wiring diagram for an 05 Ulysee? Towbar fitted but need the diagram to match up the electrics please
