Hi,

Is it just me or is there a bug in the voice command software. If you are listening to the radio or CD and then press the left stalk button to activate voice command, it doesn't mute the radio and instead trys to recognise what is on the radio before you get a chance to say anything.

Surely the software should be programmed to mute the radio when you activate voice command so nothing intereferes with it. Maybe it is just my software version.

Hmm, mine doesn't mute the radio, but it doesn't try to recognize it either. I just talk over the top of the radio and it recognizes that. Seems to work OK so far.

What bugs me is that you can't answer the phone or hang up by voice command.

:) I could just see that working - voice activated call ending. Has scope for all sorts of f**k-ups! Having the software mute (or quieten) the radio/CD would I think help though, as sometimes trying to talk above the radio to be recognised results in some interesting misinterpretations!

I think it's funny that you can press a button and issue a voice command to switch between radio and CD, when one press on another button will do the same thing!

The only gripe I have though is that it has trouble recognising me saying 'call'. Guess I'll have to take speech lessons!

Hi,

An idea just occurred to me (probably a really bad one!)...has anyone tried using the voice recognition as a way of resolving disagreements between the kids on what we're going to listen to on the radio? Maybe get each of them to shout their request and see which one the system accepts? If it just says 'sorry' then that settles it and I win (and we get peace and quiet....!). What do you think??

PS My kids love the voice synthesis on the Connect Nav, it's kept them entertained for hours as it tries to pronounce all the roads in our area. They just scream with laughter at each junction, but I'm expecting this to get a bit tiresome on our 5 hour journey next week....

My grandson refers to my Ulysse as 'the car with the magic doors that talks', and loves it whenever he gets a ride in it!

The voice synthesis has me giggling at times with its attempts at some of the roadnames, and as for it reading SMS text messages, that opens up all sorts of possibilities for silly antics!
