Got my car back today :)after fix for "Airbag Failure Warning". This was an intermittent fault which was traced to a broken wire, unfortunately they would not elaborate. They did however tell me that they initially replaced the ECU (for the airbag system presumably) but it did not cure the fault.

It is illeagl to soldier or modify and anybag loom in this country. If a broken wire was the fault, A new loom should have been fitted.

Cheers FE, I'll have a word with them. However since posting this mail the fault has re-appeared so I turned up at the dealer on Monday morning, set the keys on the desk and told them to call me when it's fixed.

Six page letter (on this plus other problems) has now been sent to Fiat and I await their reply.

And now 2 weeks later the light still comes on. They've replaced (apparently) the ECU, a seat belt pretensioner and located 2 dodgy connections. It's back in tomorrow for week 3.

Back in the day I had a Xantia where this happened over and over, sometimes as I drove away from the dealership after they'd "fixed it".
In the end it did get sorted tho, so good luck!

Wasnt there a recall item for water in the airbag controller causing problems and even potential activation!
Solution was to seal the compartment.
Not sure where I read this now.

Did check it out but the dates suggest that they have fixed this problem before my car was made but then again the garage have told me 3 times they've fixed this problem.

I'll have a word.....
