It only seems to jump start off of a running car!

I have changed the battery
Fully charged the new battery

Alternator if fine

changed the glow plugs ( horrible job) and are all testing fine

I can hear the fuel pump running at start

the engine will crank for ages but nothing!

all fuses are good

no codes when I plug in tester!

Any ideas?

How are you connecting the jump leads to your car?
If you are doing it the correct way positive to battery and negative to engine block / chassis you probably have a bad chassis (earth) connection. Try just one jump lead from battery negative to chassis, If that works it's a bad chassis connection. If it does not work try a lead between engine block and chassis. Check appropriate leads / straps.

Just tried to start the car for the 100+ time and it started, left it running for ages. I will try to start it again in the morning to see if it starts.

The battery voltage currently is 12.8V and when cranking goes down to 11.3V but now the car is starting so I will wait until tomorrow and try starting it again.

Tested the battery voltage again this morning 12.53V.

Turned the engine over twice for ages and then it started!

I will try and start it again later on and see what happens, this car has to be reliable, it is my work horse!

Not sure if it is all fixed yet, only time will tell....

If you haven't done anything, it isn't fixed

Apart from my earlier suggestions as you have a voltmeter, measure the voltage between the battery negative terminal post (the actual post that is part of the battery, not the clamp) and the chassis when the engine is being cranked with the headlights on. If it's more than a couple of volts you have a bad connection.

After what seems to be a lifetime.....

I changed the battery, not that.
Replaced the glow plugs which had all failed, not that.
Changed the LHS engine mount, because it needed replacing anyway.
Replaced the fuse board, no go.
Replaced the Fuel pressure sensor, nope.
Replaced the Fuel pressure regulator, no again.
Removed the HP fuel pump, replaced all the seals and refitted, ohh Yes. :)
