After an upgrade of the software on my Ullysee to resolve my old problem of the windows opening all by themselves I now have an occasional problem of a constant beeping sound. Thesound goes away on it own if you leave the car a while, but does continue for the journey even after removing the key - no warnings are seen in the display

I had it in today for the dealer to check but they found nothing

Any ideas

I get this occasionally and it's a recurring issue in this forum (see e.g. bip-bip thread). Never seen a solution (beyond upgrading s/w). Last time it happened to me was after picking up car from dealers when it was in to have them tighten up engine tray that I think they forgot to do at last service. Still trying to nail down cause; it seems to me to be some combination of opening/closing door, sitting down, inserting key, locking/unlocking car sequence that confuses the software. Thankfully it only happens to me occasionally - 4 or 5 times over the last year. It would drive me up the wall if it became more regular.

It happens to me about once in a month. It sure comes from the RT3 because it stops when turning it off.

Restarting (dark...) usually helps, but it happened to me twice that it did not help and it stopped then only after turning the ignition off for some minutes.

I have currently SW ver 5.40.

Which version do other have?

Version 5.41 has been for ages :)
Latest version today is 5.42 :)
It has an improved access to the navi CD which results in much less CD reading noise while navigating.

I've got the car with 5.40 and didn't bother to upgrade till now.

I'm satisfied with phone quality and have only B&W monitor.

Anyhow, the reason for asking was to find out whether this bug is version specific or not.

Last week car was in line to go on to a ferry; I had the keys in my pocket, and was kneeling on one of the middle seats to reach my jacket in the boot, driver's door and driver's side sliding door open; car let out a single salutory beeeep. After that, I started the car and, beep-beep-beep . . . .

I can confirm that the dark button removed the misery - Stuart, you should have this cure on your "hints & tips" thread.

It is thought that the fault lies between the nbc and the rt3 unit not commincating correctly. Each of these units have the vehicles chassis number burned in by the factory but sometimes this has not been confirmed. E.g the number is there can be changed, if this is so then it can create the fault described. This can be burned in using diagnostic equipment. Also the cables in the back of the radio unit can come loose or in the sat nav screen and can also cause this bleeping to be heard. But i agree on one thing is damn annoying.
