can anyone give me a bit of advice my car is showing Air flow problems and dropping into safe mode can I disconnect the meter temporally without causing problems ?? my car is an 54 ullysees

If you are referring to the MAF then disconnecting it will not help as it will be still be reporting an error.

Just get a second hand one and see if it cures your fault.

I bought one from ebay, what a waste of money, bite the bullet and buy the genuine one, cured all the problems, I think it was a Siemens.

Well after suffering poor acceleration and lack of power especially on hills I fitted a new Air Mass Sensor from EuroCarParts today and it has cured all issues. Straight forward task just a bit of a pain getting the air filter top off to get at the sensor housing. I have had the car for 10 years and it's done 46K on this original Air Mass Sensor. So lack of power, no revs in 2nd and 3rd gear and engine light occasionally coming on - change the Air Mass Sensor.
