Where is EGR valve on my 2.0 jtd Ulysse 2004? I cant see anything under the bonnet and the only pictures that I have managed to find show this to be at the rear right facing the bulkhead however, I cant see this or feel it.

Can anyone confirm that this is the correct position? I need to check hoses as I'm getting diesel fumes into the cabin. Exhaust been checked and is ok, as is the rear door seal. Read somewhere that a corroded pipe on EGR was to blame previously so I'd like to check.

Also, I hear no wastegate activity from turbo. Is this normal on this model?

Cheers

The smells in the cabin usually emanate from the air pollen filter housing due to it being tricky to refit after any engine work has been done.

Mine had a broken catch and was undone on the 2 back latches when I bought the car. It is held on by 4 pull down catches and 2 screws at the front.

I bought a second hand one off fleabay and had no smells since. To fit it I removed the engine bay brace which was a little tricky around the servo and made a flange for the small rubber hose located on the bottom as it is really hard to reconnect it once in place.

Fantastic! I have got a pollen filter in the post already as the previous owner had the auto box reconditioned by god only knows as the oil filler tube wobbles as the mount is broken, several tubes and wires behind the coolant bottle are hanging loose and the carpeted air duct thingy housing the pollen filter is attached badly with 4 tie-wraps!

I may do as you have done and get a second hand one and fit this as snugly as possible. Thanks for the tip on the engine brace, had a look and have bolt missing from one side of the brace too. Proper cowboy worked on this one.

hopefully the one in the post will have the four catches included - these are easily lost within the engine bay so a good tip is to tie the four clips together with thin fishing line so they can't go too far!

I'm not surprised one of the brace's bolts are missing, guessing the driver side as its hard to find a spanner/socket that fits past the servo.
