Hi all. I've just picked up some roof bars for my Ulysses (from a Ulysse) and I cannot for the life of me work out how they go on. I have the black plastic strip running along each side of the roof. Does this have to come out? If i start to take it off it leaves me with a small gulley on each side. Does it lock into there? Beause it doesnt seem like it will. I really need to know how to fit this and any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hi, I was breaking a Ulysse last year and someone asked me for the channels that the bars go into, so I am not sure whether those Ulysse without the bars have different channels. You should have black channels which the bars slide into - generally have to move each side bit by bit to slide them, unless well greased. There is a plate at the front of each channel - just behind the windscreen which you have to prise off to place the connector into the channel.

Hi I cant see any channels other than the gulley thats left behind if I pull the black strip off. Someone keeps mentioning T-tracks. Im beginning to think thats what I need so that I can fit them. Thanks though

Yes, the black stips should have a gap for the bars to slide into. Sounds like you have solid ones.

Easy enough to get off from aa breaker and put onto yours - just need to get one close to you as they are a pain to post as basically the full length of the car.

i have a mk1 ulysse, the channels have allen bolts mounting them to the roof. if i remove the rearmost 3 bolts on each side i can then lift the channels up allowing the square roof bar mounting plates to slide along inside the channels. once each bar is in the right position, replace the allen bolts and tighten the bar mounts. hope this helps.
