Hi, just wondering if anyone has some advice on 2 little problems which I seem to have inherited when I bought this lovely little car.

First, no matter what temperature is set on the air con, all I get is freezing cold air. Not even a hint of warmth. Okay in the summer heat I guess, but in the freezing cold of winter is real bad news. Anyone any ideas.

Second, not losing water, seems to be bubbling away in the header tank when the engine is running, but engine is overheating badly and then of course water is lost due to steam pressure. I;m not a mechanic, but will have a go at things as long as they are quite straight forward. My thought were possibly a dodgy water pump or more likely, thermostat. If this was removed and not replaced, would it present a problem?

you shouldn't have any bubbling in header tank, it sounds like headgasket has gone, pistons are pushing air through knackered head gasket and into cooling system

Thanks. that turns out to be the case. Mmm.. Yet another one bites the dust as the garage next door quoted me about £450+ to fix... Ouch.

450 isnt a bad price for a Ulysse if they are doing a proper job
