hi,
i have been advised by my local mechanic that my car may require a diesel specialist to determine why it is very hard to start.
After starting, the engine runs very lumpy and doesn’t feel good for the first mile or so.

It has gradually got worse, now when I start it, it cuts out and I have to restart with foot on gas and hold it there for 20 seconds after ignition.

anyone else had this problem before?

any advice would be helpful

Many thanks

having glow plugs changed hoping cold starting will be resolved.

garage had car for over a day before telling me they cant find access.

where is access to them best acheived?

:( Its a pig of a job. Do a search on glowplugs on this section and once you have removed alot of parts in the engine unbolted the engine mounts etc and changed by feel not sight. The garage wont want to do any repairs on it again. Glow plugs according to service book should be changed 100k. I left mine till 105k and winter was hard to get it going but once hot ran like a dream. Good Luck

thanks, still in garage, but they have just told me that it is almost done.
they have said it was a nightmare but that isnt surprising.

i hope this resolves all of the starting issues i have experienced since owning this car.
as stated before, engine runs lumpy when started for the first time of the day ( well it did when it started before knowing glow plugs were iffy ).

just have to wait and see how it goes.

thanks again
