I have 2004 Ullysse diesel and have a slight droning sound that sounds like a wheel bearing. Only problem is that if you throw the car from left to right to find out which bearing is gone it makes no difference. Also if you jack the vehicle up there is no play or roughness in the wheel bearings when you check them. Is there any reason to suspect it could be the gearbox making the noise? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

 bit more info petrol diesel manual auto etc ... the drive shafts on the diesel come out of the gearbox then to separate to supporting bearings before splitting to drive shafts these normally whine (2.0l diesel jtd etc) try the coast idea should divide to box or shafts good luck
