General Radio not turning off and is saying playing cd when its playing radio

Can anyone help me please?

i am having an issue with my radio in the Ulysee.

basically when i am in the vehicle it says it is playing cd when its the radio thats coming out and you cannot change anything - source, noise level (says stuck at max volume but this is not the case) and it won;t let me do anything - the display changes between cds and between tracks but nothing changes with what it is playing.

when i stop the car and get out everything goes black on the screen and it looks like everything is off - but the radio is still playing!

any ideas people - i don't want a flat battery and i cannot do anything about this at the moment as i have no idea where to start

What year? what model? what Radio? etc etc, we are good but not that good!! a little more info may help...... It may only take a soft reset depending on model etc. Is it an original unit or aftermarket? I presume original when you speak about display but is this the radio display or info screen? I would try disconnecting battery for a while to see if there is any change. If it is RT3 there is a soft reset but I will have to read manual to remember how to do it, off the top of my head.. hold down the menu button for about 5 sec.

its a fiat ulysee dynamique 54 plate.

its the original radio.

i fixed it by disconnecting the battery but hubby wasn;t happy with that and it happened again the other day when i was out so had to do it again - not told him that.

if anyone has a 'proper' way of doing it i would be very interested in hearing about it

Is this an RT3 unit or not? i.e. does it have sat nav etc built in? If it is then a reset is required, RTFB on how to do it.

It does have an RT3 unit - all in built.
