Do a Search for "ECU" in this Forum and take a while to read through, while your under the bonnet check all pipework (assuming its a turbo) I have also seen references made to some relays or solenoids that need checking out.

just had an auto electrician on it and he messed around with turbo pipes he said there were a few things not right.the car is driving fine now but open her up and the eml light comes back on.he fault read it again and seems to think it could be to do with pressure management on the pump, anyone got any ideas.the car is driving fine now just eml light on

i have similar problems on a 2.2 diesel. Normally the engine emissions light comes on and I loose power. after switching off for 10 mins the light stays on and I get the power back. To clear the light I have read (and tried sucessfully) to drive at a constant 45mph for 15 mins. This allows the particulate filter to regenerate - duration and temperature. Alternative is to have the garage 'tell' the PF to regenerate - just depends if you can find a road to drive on for 10 miles without a break.

I also have other alarms going off ramdomly - so much so that I am thinking of selling what is otherwise a good car. the garage told me it has 14 computers onboard - overly complicated in my view.

good luck

Had the same problem with my ullyse 2.0 jtd 2002 and found a valve mounted on the right hand side of the intake manifold which controls a flap inside the manifold had broken you can only get at it by removing the air filter housing even then its a struggle it attaches to the flap with a ball and clip at the end once this was replaced had no problem getting full revs. hope this is helpfull brihatt.
