Hey everyone

Have a problem starting an n reg 2.0 petrol ulysse

has been off the road for a couple of years

recently refitted engine

when you turn the ignition on the keypad green light comes on and red goes off, without having to enter a key /code

relay next to the ecu starts clicking away repeatedly and won't stop

when you turn the key to turn it over - the relay stops clicking and nothing happens. can here what sounds like fuel pump priming

sounds like exactly the same problem as this thread here:

( won't allow me to post url as new user, but search for "key code error" from user "iguana" )

ecu has been removed to have keycode read from eprom and refitted - but theres no chance to even enter a code.

Really hoping somebody here can help with this

thanks

Are you sure it's a keypad/ECU problem? If the green light is coming on that sounds normal. Maybe it's something more simple like a sticking starter particularly as its been laid up for a couple of years. When the starter solenoid sticks you won't hear anything apart from a faint clicking. Try whacking the starter casing with a hefty hammer and see if that makes a difference, it works for me when mine occasionally sticks.
