I have a 2000 Ulysse EL with remote central locking... or rather did...

Nope. It ain't been nicked but the remote key gave up the ghost.

New battery I thought so I bought a new one.

Nope. Not that.

Anything I can do? Fiat, God bless 'em, charge £120 for a new Remote key (let's face it once you've open them up it has a 50p circuit board in it).

Any clues?

I am not sure of this, but do you have to be real quick when you swap over the batteries in the fob, otherwise the key may need to be reprogrammed?

Do you have a manual with the car?

No manual. Does someone else have one and can check?

Can I reprogramme it? Please tell me I don't have to go back to Fiat...... last time it was there they cause a lot of damage!!

just joined got 2001 ulysse and remote died, battery was ok. done as said on forum put key in ignition turn on and pressed both remote buttons for 10 seconds and hay presto I have a remote working again.

not sure where I saw it I think it might have been on another fiat model, what ever it works and has save me money

It would have been back in October last year, but I read something on the lines of pressing the buttons up and down, so am going to try it with pushing the buttons together now!

Nope it didn't work, so it could be that the battery has been out too long, has anyone else any ideas?

hi i have a 1997 ulysse and the remote stopped working turned out to be a slack connection where the button meets the circit board after all if it doesnt work you push a little harder just in case .a little solder and 8 months later still working

HI

Just tried the trick of turning the key whilst holding down the two buttons (much easier if you do it with the PCB out of the keyholder) and it works for the first time since buying the car.

Thanks BJay and everyone else
