hi all :bang:,am wondering if anyone can help me out ,just got a ulysses 1.9 td s 1996,there is a keypad fitted on dash at drivers door when trying to tidy up vehicle i foolishly replaced the plug back into the rear of keypad, since then have not been able to start vehicle,i have tried removing the plug again but no joy, there was two 4 digit numbers on the manual, one of them i found out was the radio code, but i get no joy with the other number in the keypad i have tried both numbers, also the factory code of 1111,but still no joy, there are four wires coming out of the rear of the pump, which i take it are for a secondary fuel cutoff? the coluors are brown,yellow/red,black/brown,black.its a bosch pump fitted to the vehicle i would be forever in someones debt if they could help,i tried yahoo, one of the replies i got was to remove the shield at rear of pump where wires go in,with a grinder? then change solenoid inside with a non coded solenoid, does anyone know if you have to replace the shield after you have done this,i can find no ecu, aparently this model was fitted with a basic immoiliser ie not connected to an ecu,any help would be good as the wife is constantly giving me jip:cry:,paid too much for the car,all estimates have been in the region of £200. cheers ian:worship:

tried but last owner knows nothing about the immobiliser, says that they never used it,there is a number next the radio code but this doesnt do anything,am trying to see if i can wire the electronic module behind shield on pump i take it it is just a solenoid with the 4 wires:bang:

probably a bit late now but I had a similar problem recently when mine was in for repairs.
They disconnected the battery for 5 hours which wiped the imobiliser code. I never used the imobiliser as the wires has broken behind it. They got it going by bump starting it, after that it would start every time. It seems that if you start the engine and then disconnect the imobiliser while the engine is still running, it permanently bypasses it which is good as that type with a flap are inconvenient at the best of times, and poor design as the wires are thin and break after being bent all the time.

Andrew1260,
I also have keypad immobiliser which is disconnected as it was getting unreliable. Could you give some more detail please on your above post.
I would like to know what would happen to the immobiliser if the battery was disconnected. You mention you bump started yours and then it was ok. I have 96 petrol 2.0 s. Is yours the petrol version as well?
I do know the code for mine, so would I just plug it back in and enter the code. Any advice would be appreciated, thankyou.

Thank you very very much for sorting out my problem. Two fiat dealers told me there was nothing I could do as the Key Pad was no longer available. I did as you said and put the code in, started the engine and removed the lead. All is well with the world again!
