I've got a Fiat Ulysse 2004 2.0JTD. The engine management light came on yesterday and the warning is saying there is a pollution fault.

Can anyone confirm if:

a) this pollution fault would put the engine management light on?
b) does a pollution fault mean the pollen filter on the air con needs changing?
c) if so, is this an easy job?

hope you can help

Cheers

Peter

Hi,

a) This can put the engine management light on and if so usually means there is a real problem as opposed to some quirks that the Ulysse has.
b) No
c) N/A

There are plenty of threads on the forum that relate to this problem, though they may leave you more confused. Basically without putting the car on diagnostics you won't really know what the message relates to. The biggest problem is finding a garage who can interpret the error messages.
Hope this helps.

Hi, :idea:Have a look at the 2 wires coming from the petrol cap sensor. I had this light on Friday and traced the wires back, one was completly broken due to corrosion, they are protected by a plastic conduit but when i traced them from the cap sensor to under the car near the rear wheel where there is a connection it was completely nadged due to corrosion.

This sensor tells the computer that the cap is either on or off-it is a proximty switch, and will tell the computer if the car has been refuelled so to inject diesel additive into the FAP filter.

Hope this helps (y)

cheers
