Note that you'll need something like CloneCD or Alcohol120% to burn this to a CD!
My initial post-upgrade observations are as follows......
1) Make sure the CD you use is not physically damaged in any way and is clean (check for finger smudges on the surface etc)
2) Follow the process in the Eurovan2 Tips & Tricks section for the 5.40 upgrade! (link above)
3) TA messages are received when playing CD
4) I've noticed a significant reduction in the quiet times on the radio when the RT3 is looking for a TA broadcast message
5) Phone quality is much improved (but still not perfect - there is still some background noise, but it's much reduced)
6) Under 5.40 I had the cut-out on the A/V input increased to 250Km/h so I could use the menu buttons while moving - I never checked what happened to the A/V input while driving though. Under 5.41, all the menu buttons etc are active while driving, but the A/V input is terminated at 5Km/h
7) The announcement of street names with navigation instructions has been removed from the audio guidance, but the street names still appear on the screen
8) In general zooming out takes less time and less hourglass displays than before
9) We don't have a compatible TMC broadcaster in the UK, so can't comment on any TMC functionallity
Not noticed anything else yet - more once I've run up a few more post-upgrade miles! [8D]
Opinion.... If you're not yet on 5.40, the upgrade is definately worth it. If you're on 5.40 and you use the RT3 phone, the upgrade is also definately worth it. If you're on 5.40 and don't use the RT3 phone, I don't know enough about any other differences to comment - possibly worth it!
