I totally agree, I won't be renewing the service at renewal time! Used it a few times, but cannot really justify the added expense.

What is connect and connect plus? I always read you talking about it but haven't really picked the answer up?

Go to http://www.targaconnect.com/ to see from the 'horses mouth' what it's all about!

Still wouldn't pay for it though!

Hi,

I think the renewal is Euro 150 for 12 months, but I think I will not be renewing as I hardly ever use it. I wonder if the breakdown option will still work without a subscription, I know the 807 does.

Andy

Ah yes, good point.

Although the Fiat does seem to come with 2 breakdown options - the AA Assist and Europ Assist through Connect. However, interesting about the 807.

I have private RAC cover (from my wife's car) where I am an associate member and covered in any vehicle. Also because it's a company car, I have cover through the lease agreement also. This is without the AA Assist service that the car came with! While it's nice to just press a button and have someone call back, it's almost as easy to press a couple of buttons and dial one of the pre-programmed numbers for the services I have available.

Yeah, but I hope I don't have to go back to pressing the <ESC> button every time I start up the car after the subscription expires. From the way it's worded in the manual it looks like the medical & breakdown assistance service will continue without subscription payments.

As far as I understand, once the messages have been cleared, they stay cleared (I hope, otherwise I'll start to get p*ssed with my car in about 3 months time!).

John ;)
