Hi

I have a 2001 Y reg ulysee. The main ecu for the climate control has died. You press the buttons and naff all happens. i've taken it to two garages who both say the main unit need replacing at a cost of approx £700 plus VAT plus about 1 hour labour.

Does anyone know of any other options? I've already gone through some online breakers but they haven't come up with anything yet.

any idea about what's gone inside the ECU? could have it checked? either by someone you know or professionally, might just be sumthin stupid like a transistor, resistor etc.?

A lot of kit has fusible resistors inside that could have blown.
May as well pull the old one out and get somebody to have apeek inside. May even be a dry solder joint.
