:bang: Hi My 54 plate fiat ulysse jtd drove alright this morning parked outside my house left it couple of hours went to use it again and "engine immobiliser fault" displayed on center radio display.Car will turn over everything works but won't start. dealer explained a little trick with key using the unlock button and it reset the fault. However drove about two miles and the car cut out and engine immobiliser fault came up again and will not reset? So car turns over but will not start. Any one got any ideas of what why and how much???? Or anyone had the same fault?? Thanks

 Got car repaired today after waiting parts!!! It seems the body computer was full of water and has rusted/corroded and blown up. B4 you say it No i dont jet wash/steam clean the engine bay. Anyone else had the same problem as car cover company won't pay for the repair as water in unit is not covered and i dont know how it got in and if it will happen again??
I will give the fiat dealer a well done as the diagnosis was spot on and when the part came in a quick repair and cleaned inside and out on collection.:)
Has anyone had water in the body computer on the new shape ulysse and is it a common fault??

Hello -

Glad your car was fixed and your happy with your dealership. You must have a good one (y)

I'm not sure what you mean by the cars computer being flooded but I have (well the previous owner) had the entire fusebox replaced due to the entire fuse box being drowned in rain water. If you look you will see that the OSF drain hole at the bottom of the windscreen is directly above the fuse box. Always make sure your cover is fitted snuggly and securely as it was quite a bill to fix and made the car unusable!

Glad your happy again though.

Would my 1999 V reg 2.0s have an immobiliser? key code? mine has not worked for over a week now, many mechanics scratching their heads including the AA. Stop flashes on dash, no engine light, nut turns over and all electrics work. But there is water by the throttle thing and a bit wet underneath the ecu and the relay used to click but doesn't even do that now.:bang:

I would check that but the car is in a garage miles away from me as nobody local wanted to take it on. Fix It Again Tomorrow was said to me a few times, FIAT. Think I will go along the lines that its the ecu at fault somewhere, should of kept my strada from years ago.
