Hello,

I want to build an turbo engine, but cant find hp ratings on the intenals?

What number can the original piston and rods hold og hp? and can it hold to the turbo?

There is a lot of Cinqs and Seicentos with turboed 1.2 8v engine, safe and reliable horsepower rating would be around 110-120hp on a fully stock engine, the internals can take a lot if the tuner is good. Limit for rods would be around 180hp although I've seen +210 on stock internals. I doubt you will need +150 in a Panda or a Punto. If you want to go above 180hp I would recommend swapping the stock rods for the rods found in 1.2 16v sporting engine. They lower the compression a bit and a much stronger. How much power do you need? 886 cam, exhaust and a remap can give you a bit more then 80hp , start with that and get a feeling for it

Thanks Antelo, I think 130-150 hp will be good. I will look up some spare parts and another low millage block I can build on.

Will an Garrat gt15 be okay with 130-150 hp or should I get the gt25?

And will it be enough to get high pressure from the stock oil pump ?

Thanks again:D

Why not start with a turbo from a 1.9 JTD? They are cheap and can be found everywhere, dunno, gt25 seems a bit too big for 150hp but gt15 seems perfect. Fiat usually goes overboard with oiling so you should be fine. I forgot to mention that mk2 Punto and Panda have a plastic intake manifold, you can get an alloy manifold from an mk1 Punto

VL37 from a GP/Bravo/Mito/500 t-jet 120 hp are fine for ~140hp.
But depends of the engine flow as well.. it makes 140 hp easily on the t-jet (16v).. might not on the 8v

Easy and cheap to find second hand.
