So in a few weeks i can get hold of a 1242 16v engine. As this is my first 16v FIRE engine I have a (simple) question.
In the 8v 'scene' everyone knows that if you have a 1108cc of 1242 with 60hp you can fit a 866 cam from the 75hp 1242 version.

Does this work with 16v versions as well, so do the cams form a 1.4 or 1.6 16v fit the 1.2 16v head? and does it make any difference?

no as you probably already have them

There are certainly two different specs of cam out there. 1. 9,2mm lift and 276deg duration
2. 9,2mm lift and 259 deg duration

I'm unsure of whether there are any indications of spec on the cams.

See, for example this unresolved thread on the GC forum.

C & B and some Polski folk I can't remember the names of are also doing cams for the 16v engines. The big limit will be money and the horrible, horrible, hydraulic actuation.
